Financial support to develop this database have come from a range of sources. These include: the European Commission, the Joint Nature Conservation Committee of the UK, and the Government of the Netherlands.

This UNEP-WCMC Trees Database contains trees information on threatened trees and other trees of conservation concern. This database was used to generate The World List of Threatened Trees. This information resource is a result of collaboration between individual scientists worldwide, expert opinions derived from three regional workshops, and many organisations, notably the WCMC, and Species Survival Commission of IUCN.

The data presented here contribute to the Global Trees Campaign.
